Capability & Capacity
Permoid Industries Ltd manufactures for a broad range of customers including the Cummins Engine Company as well as earthmoving companies such as J.C Bamford, Komatsu UK and Caterpillar UK for their Desford site. The company also serves the automotive industry through Schmitz Cargobull, it is also a Ministry of Defence contractor producing specialised ammunition containers and packaging for the global defence industry.
The company has a wide range of production facilities, as you will see from the plant listing and general introduction pack which is available upon request. We also work closely with all our customers in product development and play a major role in producing prototype work for these customers.
Materials worked are carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Welding is either MIG or TIG processes. Our finishing processes can be either Wet or Powder paint or sub contract galvanizing / electroplating. An additional material that we now have experience with is plastics, including rapid prototyping, vacuum forming and high volume injection moulding.
The company produces fuel and hydraulic tanks for both the heavy commercial vehicle market and the yellow goods market (Earth Moving Equipment). Material thicknesses range from 1.6mm through to 12mm thick. Permoid also manufactures structural parts such as chassis sections, dippers and booms using laser cut steel sections and castings. Fabrications can be finished to full electric and hydraulic specification to include all procurement of third party equipment as required.
CNC Machining allows the company to mass produce machined heavy flanges, turned parts and finish machining of fabrications. To add to this capability we have a fully functional tool room which allows for tool repairs and the building of jigs and fixtures.
To complement the fabrication and machining we have a fully functional design / engineering department. This department is able to take ideas in sketch form or full 3D models and develop these for manufacture within the company. The CAD System we use is Inventor Professional which includes a full set of analytical tools (eg. finite element analysis) to aid the fabrication design work. The system also runs software for piping and wiring systems on vehicles.
